Docling the python document reading library

View source

Just discoverered the excellent docling library

TL;DR: it reads a variety of digital document formats and converts them to (eg) markdown - ready to slurping into an AI.

I’ve got a downloaded pdf book of autobiographies of famous writers - each page is a scan. I used it to make it searchable and create links between authors: this library enables this project to work. Each page takes about 18s per page.

What a time to be alive. (I say this to myself everytime I come across some astonishing new AI development. You don’t?)
