TIL the cross-over between AI assisted development and DDD
DDD is a great tool for approaching a technical problem: useful concepts and useful methodology to write the code.
Of course these days we can (debatably!) defer that code-creation to AI. Perhaps we can concentrate on the design and architecture and let the AI handle the implementation details?
Turns out this isn’t an original idea. Various forms of ‘spec-driven development’ are available.: but this smart reviewer is luke-warm on the whole idea.
This company has several interesting blog posts: Code centric: Domain-Story to Prototype & Five principles post have a lot of detail. Reference list is worth a read in itself. Some I recognize (and recommend), and the academic literature is unknown to me, so that’s a good opportunity to dive deeper!
Can omit mention of this video : Eric Evans on the topic : nice dive into LLMs, but sadly, not so much about using them with DDD! oh well!
